About Euglena Academy

The Adaptability Project

An ongoing, self-organizing, evolving program to address planetary challenges of the 21st century

Introductory class held on Wednesday evenings

Euglena Academy is proud to announce the launch of the Adaptability Project, inspired and informed by Diane Dumanoski's powerful new book, The End of the Long Summer. This multi-faceted project transcends our past program structure because in this project we are not only attempting to understand the problems facing us - notably, Earth's climate crisis - from a systems sciences perspective, especially Gaia theory, but also actively seeking optimal approaches to living in our radically changing world and increasing the adaptability of our society to the great challenges that lie ahead.

Winter Course Overview

We're very excited about this winter's classes - some repeats of favorites, and some brand new offerings. Euglena Academy is constantly adjusting to our ever changing world. With climate change events happening at an ever increasing pace, and new scientific approaches emerging, we are always pushing towards the leading edge.

This winter's class offerings range from our core introductory course, How Nature Works, to an introductory reading seminar for the Adaptability Project, and an exciting class on a New Kind of Science, based on recent advances in mathematics, with both introductory (part 1) and advanced (part 2) courses offered.
